Simon Gauvin is a guitarist and composer living in Québec. He received a bachelor’s degree in composition and a certificate in digital audio production at the Laval University in Québec.

 

His work Transfusion for chamber orchestra and piano was played by the Nouvel Ensemble Moderne at the Grand Théâtre de Québec. His piece Bullet Cluster for solo bass clarinet was broadcast at CKIA-FM.

 

He played with the pianist Vanessa Bourque-Leclerc as part of the Duo Scheikunde for ten years. He played numerous times as a soloist and accompanist, including at the Musée de la civilisation in Québec.

 

Simon organized fundraisers for charity like the Club des petits déjeuners. He is now working on new projects as interpreter and composer. His repertoire goes from baroque to contemporary music, making a detour to explore traditional music.
